Only then do we move on to the design, followed by the programming.

The Act to Strengthen Accessibility has been in force since 28 June 2025 – and is now binding on many companies for the first time.
The BFSG transposes the European Accessibility Act into German law. The standard is EN 301 549, which refers to WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
This mainly affects those who sell products to consumers online, allow them to make bookings, or provide an account service. Simple information pages run by small businesses are often not covered by this – and we’re telling you this simply to provide information, not to sell you anything.

- Your business has at least ten employees or a turnover or balance sheet total of more than €2 million
- You provide banking, telecommunications, e-book or passenger transport services
- Your business customers require suppliers to meet accessibility standards
