Customised software
Where the standard ends.
Many issues can be resolved within existing systems, but some cannot. We start by assessing what your existing software is capable of, and then develop solutions where it reaches its limits – ranging from system extensions to bespoke applications.
Do you have an idea? We’ll make it happen!
Standard first. Then customised.
Not every process requires its own software.
That’s why we first check whether a standard product will do the job – and we’ll tell you if it does. A bespoke solution is worthwhile in three cases: when a particular workflow is your competitive advantage; when off-the-shelf software only fits with numerous customisations; or when systems need to work together that weren’t designed to do so. In such cases, the software mirrors your process rather than forcing it to conform.
- We recommend off-the-shelf software when it’s sufficient
- Customised solutions where the workflow is your competitive advantage
- No software without a clear plan for its subsequent operation
One data set. Two outputs.
Price lists, data sheets, catalogues: traditionally, these are produced by typing the content from a spreadsheet into a layout. Every change has to be made twice, and every error occurs multiple times. Database publishing turns this on its head. The data remains in one place, the layout serves as a template, and the pages are generated automatically – for both print and web from the same source. Rather than making corrections just before the trade fair, the documents are simply regenerated.
- Generate catalogues, price lists and data sheets automatically
- Make changes once – visible in both versions
- Multilingual versions without multiple layouts
Exclusive, flexible, scalable
What we build
Four types
of tasks.
Specialist Applications & Portals
Tools for specific purposes: recording, checking, approving, analysing.
- Applications for internal processes and specialist departments
- Portals for dealers, partners and field staff
- Restricted areas with roles and permissions
Interfaces & Integration
The most common requirement: two systems that need the same data but do not speak the same language.
- Integration of ERP, PIM, CRM, online shop and inventory management
- Data synchronisation with rules, logging and error handling
- Interfaces for partners and in-house applications
- Migration and consolidation of legacy systems
Automation
Repetitive manual tasks that a system can take over.
- Fixed rules instead of manual repetition
- Documents, lists and reports are generated automatically
- Notifications and approval workflows
- Generate catalogues and price lists directly from the data
Further Development & Operation
Software evolves as its tasks grow. That is why we factor in the period following the launch.
- Bug fixes, updates and security patches
- New requirements in manageable stages
- Operations in German data centres
- A team that knows the code – even three years down the line
Off-the-shelf software rarely fits – bespoke software always does.
Different requirements. Tailored solutions.
Our digital projects do not start with a specific technology, but with the question: which processes need to be optimised? If product data and media are scattered across multiple locations, a PIM or DAM system may be the right solution. If content and product data are to be consolidated within a single system, a digital experience platform comes into play. And if off-the-shelf software does not fit with your organisation’s specific workflows, we develop bespoke solutions. We also provide web development and web design for your digital presence, as well as hosting to ensure reliable operation.
In a nutshell
The cost depends on the scope of the work. We provide a quote based on the specifications and work in stages, so that you can decide how to proceed after each stage.
We clarify this issue in writing before the project begins – along with the rights of use and how the source code is to be handled.
A proper handover is part of the contract. We document everything so that another team could take over the work.
We work with established, open-source technologies and select them based on the task at hand and the system’s lifespan – not on the basis of current trends.
Smaller applications and interfaces are straightforward; larger platforms are developed in stages. Once the specifications are finalised, we will provide a binding schedule.
We’ll take a look at the code, documentation and current state of the system, and give you our honest opinion on whether it makes sense to take it on or whether building a new system from scratch would be the more cost-effective option.
