Endrich has been a design-in distributor of electronic components for 50 years – ranging from rechargeable batteries and lighting solutions to wireless modules. It is a product range in which hardly any two categories can be described using the same technical specifications.

This was precisely the challenge: to map 878 product attributes across completely different component categories in such a way that customers can quickly find the right part – and Endrich can create new categories itself without needing the agency’s help.

The result is a platform with a Pimcore PIM at its heart: product data, filter logic, search, an AI chatbot and ERP integration all work in tandem. Today, Endrich’s product managers define for themselves which attributes appear as filters and which data is displayed in each product tile.

Our work:

  • Conceptualisation and implementation of the Pimcore PIM as a central database
  • Dynamic, editorially manageable filter logic for each product category
  • Freely configurable output channels for tiles, filters and detail pages
  • Website relaunch for three brands on a single platform
  • Categorised product and full-text search
  • AI chatbot with knowledge of the entire product portfolio
  • Real-time monitoring of data quality
  • Interface to Endrich’s ERP system

"Cooperation based on partnership"

"Always straightforward and always available – we’ve never experienced this level of service from any of our previous agencies"

Filters for everything – and therefore for nothing.

On the old website, every visitor was shown the same filter catalogue: all attributes across all product ranges, regardless of whether they were looking for a battery or a wireless module.

Anyone wanting to filter by wavelength had to scroll past capacity, housing types and transmission power. Technically comprehensive, but practically unusable. And every new attribute meant a ticket to the development team.

    • 878 attributes from fundamentally different component categories – without bridging the technical gaps
    • Three brands on one platform, each with its own visual identity
    • Filters had to be editorially controllable rather than hard-coded
    • The completeness of images, data sheets and compliance data had to be verifiable on an ongoing basis
    • The budget of a medium-sized company, the complexity of a corporate PIM

The product managers at Endrich specify, for each category, which attribute appears as a filter – and in what form: range selection, tick box, radio button, free text or drop-down menu.

The system then automatically retrieves the possible values from the existing product data and uses them to build the filter. New category, new attribute, new filter: all handled in the backend, without deployment and without any waiting time.

Each category shows exactly what it is supposed to show.

Using freely definable output channels, Endrich determines which data appears in the product tile, which on the details page, and which serves as a filter.

An RGB LED displays wavelengths; a motherboard displays the CPU, chipset and socket – the same system, different outputs. The tool gives Endrich maximum flexibility when creating new products and long-term independence from the agency.

      How Endrich’s customers
      benefit from this.

Instead of a single, undifferentiated list of results, search results on Endrich are automatically sorted by relevance and clearly grouped as follows:

        • Products
        • Categories
        • Pages
        • Manufacturers

In addition, the search can be further refined using filter buttons. The key technical specifications are displayed directly for each product result, so customers do not have to click on every individual product to see if it is suitable.

Customers can add individual components or products to a personal wish list with a single click directly from the product overview or the product details page. A brief confirmation message immediately indicates that the action was successful.

Once the search is complete, the entire wish list can be transferred in bulk to an enquiry in the next step – for example, to request a quote or check availability.

          ‘Endy’ knows the entire portfolio.

The AI chatbot has been trained on the entire product database and is therefore familiar with every component, every technical specification and every detail of the product range. It guides customers effectively through the depth and variety of the range, understands their individual requirements and, on this basis, suggests suitable components and sensible alternatives. Furthermore, it provides reliable, real-time information on key compliance data such as REACH and RoHS, thereby creating transparency exactly where it is needed.

Information that previously required a separate enquiry to the sales team is now available to customers round the clock – directly alongside the relevant product, with no waiting time and no detours.

Because the main workload – field definition and data maintenance – lies with Endrich rather than with the development team, a project of this scale could be implemented within a framework suitable for a medium-sized business.

The knock-on effect is almost more significant than the cost savings: Endrich now maintains product data itself and brings new product ranges online without having to go through the agency. The PIM has become the single point of truth, with the interface to the ERP system linking product, sales and logistics data. All departments work with the same up-to-date data.
