We, the hosts

What do the catering and hotel industries have in common? Quite clearly: hospitality, good service, great enjoyment – and, unfortunately, a shortage of apprentices. Do professions such as chef or hotel manager simply not seem attractive enough these days, or is it simply down to a lack of information?

Our “Wir Gastfreunde” campaign, commissioned by the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA), aims to inform and advise young people about the six different areas of the sector, and simply to spark their interest in these careers. What makes it special is that it’s not just leaflets and brochures being used for promotion, but an interactive bus that brings everything together and meets young people where they are every day: at school. And when the last lesson is over? That’s no problem either. Thanks to the cross-media links to the website and social media channels, pupils are encouraged afterwards to find out more about various career paths.
