When do you ever get the chance to drive through the snow on a snow groomer? At “INTERALPIN Innsbruck 2017”, the world’s leading trade fair for alpine technologies, visitors were treated to an extremely realistic ride through the Sölden ski resort. Whether below the Rettenbach Glacier or heading towards the sunrise on the Gaislachkogel – this was an experience of the PistenBully that many had never had before.
How does it work? With the help of a specially developed motion platform and Zeiss’s VR One headsets, five people can simultaneously experience the synchronised ride in a 360° video. And all this at 1 g of acceleration! Mounted on a real PistenBully vehicle, the result is a well-rounded adventure that has now found its place in the Laupheim showroom.

- Design and manufacture of the simulator with dynamic structural analysis and the simulator for testing the loads on the PistenBully chassis
- Planning of the automation and drive technology
- Implementation of the electrical and automation installations
- Design and development of the control software
- 360° video shoot featuring various PistenBullys in Sölden
- Development of the safety concept and risk analysis in accordance with DIN EN 13814
- Acceptance testing of the entire system in accordance with DIN EN 13814, with no defects whatsoever, carried out by SGS TÜV Saar GmbH
